 Dr. Najibullah was the President of Afghanistan from

1987 to 1992. He was a member of the People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA), a Marxist political party that came to power in Afghanistan through a coup in 1978. Najibullah was the head of Afghanistan’s intelligence agency, the KhAD, before becoming President. His Presidency was marked by continued civil war, economic hardship, and an ongoing conflict with mujahideen forces who were fighting to overthrow the communist government. In 1992, Najibullah was overthrown by mujahideen forces, and he sought refuge in the United Nations compound in Kabul. However, he was captured by the Taliban in 1996 and executed. As much as he was involved in the murder of Dr. Najibullah, Pakistan's foremost Dr. Najibullah has said that he will go away alive even if he did not leave his homeland in a shroud.

ډاکټر نجیب الله له ۱۹۸۷ څخه تر ۱۹۹۲ پورې د افغانستان ولسمشر و، هغه د افغانستان د خلق دیموکراتیک ګوند (PDPA) غړی و، چې یو مارکسیست سیاسي ګوند و چې په ۱۹۷۸ کال کې د یوې کودتا له لارې په افغانستان کې واک ته ورسېد. استخباراتي ادارې KAD، مخکې له دې چې ولسمشر شي. د هغه ولسمشري د کورنۍ جګړې، اقتصادي ستونزو، او د مجاهدینو ځواکونو سره د روانې جګړې له امله نښه شوې وه چې د کمونیستي حکومت د نسکورولو لپاره یې جګړه کوله. په ۱۹۹۲ کال کې نجیب الله د مجاهدینو له خوا نسکور شو او په کابل کې د ملګرو ملتونو په انګړ کې یې پناه واخیسته. خو په ۱۹۹۶ کال کې د طالبانو لخوا ونیول شو او اعدام شو. څومره چې د ډاکټر نجيب الله په وژنه کې لاس درلود، د پاکستان مخکښ ډاکټر نجيب الله ويلي دي چې که خپل وطن په کفن کې پرې نه ږدي، ژوندي به هم لاړ شي.
